Change Management Course

The Change Management qualification course content is based on principles from The Effective Change Manager’s Handbook, which is fully endorsed by the Change Management Institute and is aligned with their Change Management Body of Knowledge chapter by chapter.

This course is designed to provide you with the skills and techniques you need in order to understand the various change management models and learn how to manage organisational change.

Key Topics

Change Management: Foundation

This three-day Foundation course provides you with the skills and techniques you need to successfully manage change in a business environment. Included is a 40-minute multiple-choice exam on the third day. The training is presented as a blend of Change Management theory and practical examples. You’ll learn about the dynamics of change at the individual, team and organisational level. You’ll also learn practical Change Management skills for facilitating change and be able to plan for change and potential problems.

The course covers four key topics:

  1. Individuals: How they learn, what motivates them and how they react to change.
  2. Organisations: Different approaches to organisational change, emergent versus planned change, typical roles in change, and organisational culture.
  3. Communications and stakeholder engagement: best practices in communications and how to identify, segment and engage with stakeholders.
  4. Change Practice: Assessing the change impact, preparing for change, and dealing with resistance.

 

Change Management: Practitioner       

Upon completion of the Change Management Foundations course, the next step for attendees to take their change management skills to the next level is the Practitioner course. Attendees will gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the principles around how to implement and manage change in an organisation. This course goes beyond the standard syllabus and includes much that you won’t find in similar courses. The Practitioner Qualification is recognised by the Change Management Institute as fully meeting the knowledge part of their accreditation scheme.

Attendees will learn:

  • How to analyse and plan for learning during change
  • The different types of project environment and what this means for the change manager.
  • Different levels of adoption during change.
  • Levers for sustaining change.

Course Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites required for this course.

How This Course Is Delivered

The Foundation course is course is 24 hours long (3 full days or 5 x ½ days) and the Practitioner course is 12 hours long (1.5 full days or 3 x ½ days) and can be delivered both in-person and remotely.

Certification

The completion of this course will offer attendees a recognised certification in the pursuit of a career in Programme, Project and Change Management.
